First session with Absolute, spotless area and equipment, very professional and discrete would highly recommend. I was very anxious about my visit but was made to feel welcome and became relaxed very quickly. for me this is life changing and was made to feel so calm and looking forward to my next session. if your just considering you should definitely phone up for a consultation, you won't be disappointed

Started my laser journey with the lovely Steph this week. I was expecting it to be so painful but I couldn’t have been anymore wrong, literally pain free. Steph is so professional and talks you through every stage I’ve never felt more at ease. The clinic is spotless and so inviting. Can’t wait to see the end results xx

So happy I've started my laser sessions with Steph.  I've thought about laser for a while and Steph put me at ease from the start, talked through the process step by step and the packages available to me.  Third session in now and seeing great results.  Anyone thinking of starting their laser journey - definitely recommend Steph!

Find out how to care for your skin before and after hair removal treatment, including what to avoid before laser hair removal.

Taking care of the skin that is going to be treated is important for your safety and comfort, as well as to ensure the treatment is as effective as possible.

Pre care- prior to arriving for your treatment session:

  • The area of treatment should be shaved at least 12 hours prior to treatment.
  • Wear loose-fitting clothes on the day.
  • Avoid alcohol or smoking the night before and on the day of the treatment.
  • Drink at least 1 litre of water the day before and the day of treatment - this helps your body to regulate its temperature.
  • Do not exercise before the treatment.
  • Avoid applying any products on areas of treatment, keep it dry and clean prior to treatment.
  • Do not expose the skin to UV light (sunlight or sunbeds) or apply any self-tanning products for 8 weeks prior to treatment.

After care- protecting your skin after and between sessions:

  • Avoid exposing skin to UV light (sunlight or sunbeds) or self-tan for at least 2 weeks after treatment. This is to minimise darkening of the skin (hyperpigmentation).
  • Avoid heat treatments such as spas, steam rooms and saunas for 7 days.
  • Avoid excessive scrubbing or applying pressure to the skin for 4-5 days. This is to allow the treated skin to recover and to prevent any infection.
  • Avoid shaving the treated area for 72 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid exercising for at least 48 hours.
  • Avoid hot baths and hot showers for 48 hours.
  • Avoid anything that involves chlorine (e.g. swimming) for 48 hours.
  • Avoid make-up on the treated area for at least 48 hours.
  • Avoid the application of perfumed products or bleaching creams for 48 hours.
  • Avoid scratching the treatment area if blistering or crusting occurs, as this can cause scarring.
  • Avoid waxing, tweezing and threading for the complete duration of the treatment course.

Here's what to do after your treatment and between sessions:

  • Do apply an ice-pack on the treated area to reduce pain, discomfort or irritation.
  • Do apply aloe vera gel or calming creams for 3 days after the treatment.
  • Do wear loose clothes to avoid friction on the treated area for 48 hours.
  • Do keep treated area clean and dry for 48 hours.
  • Do drink plenty of water.
  • Do use at least SPF 50 sunscreen for at least 2 weeks.

Prolonged itching may occur but keep the area cool and apply aloe vera gel or calming creams.

In order for treatment to be successful and effective with minimal potential adverse effects as possible, you must follow the aftercare routine as indicated on this page.

Pre & Post Treatment Care

How does Laser Hair Removal work?

The laser uses a light beam to target the pigment (melanin) in the hair. This creates heat which travels down the hair shaft, damaging the hair follicle and destroying its growth. However, surrounding tissue is not damaged. Hair has three stages of growth and all hair in the active stage at the time of treatment will be destroyed. The hair will slowly start to fall out, roots that have been destroyed in that session will not produce another hair.

Where on the body can you have Laser Hair Removal?

We can treat hair wherever it grows on the skin’s surface. We can treat intimate areas and hard-to-reach areas, and anywhere on the face and body, including legs, the bikini area, arms, back and chest.

Am I suitable for Laser Hair Removal?

Elysion treatment is suitable for all patients looking for a definitive, safe hair removal with excellent results. To evaluate if you are a candidate for this treatment it is essential to go to an assessment appointment where some factors such as the colour and type of skin, the characteristics of the hair and some important antecedents are considered. After this, the necessary sessions will be indicated so that you can have the expected results with the best depilation equipment on the market.

How many sessions will I need to see results?

Laser hair removal requires several treatment sessions for various reasons.

Firstly, during a treatment only hair that is in the growth phase, i.e. the anagen phase, can be removed.

Secondly, it is not possible in a single session to eliminate all the germinative cells in the hair; the greatest amount of cells are eliminated in the first sessions and those that remain are eliminated in subsequent sessions.

The number of sessions will depend on the area to be treated, the thickness and colour of the hair, the skin phototype and the specific needs of each patient. But above all it will depend on the power of the laser, since the higher the power of the laser, the more cells we can eliminate in each session. As a guide, sessions can vary between 6 and 10, always depending on the criteria of the professional.

Is the hair removed completely?

Elysion hair removal achieves permanent hair removal through successive sessions. The superior power of our equipment ensures the best hair removal results on the market. However, the quality of the hair removal does not only depend on the equipment but also on the type of patient. Fine, light hair and dark skin are more difficult to depilate compared to patients with light skin and dark hair. However, Elysion offers excellent results in both cases.

How often do I have to do the sessions?

The time between sessions is usually 2.5 to 3 months.

Do I have to do anything before the session?

1. Avoid medications or photo-sensitive supplements 3 days prior to treatment

2. Shaving the treatment areas 24 hours before treatment (avoid waxing with hair cutting or plucking methods)

3. Avoid sun chambers or exposure to the sun 3 days prior to treatment

4. On the day of treatment, avoid the use of creams, deodorants, oils or any LOTIONS.

Who cannot be treated?

  • Anyone who takes medicine or herbs that make them sensitive to light

  • Anyone who has eczema on the area to be treated

  • Anyone who has epilepsy, lupus or porphyria

  • Anyone who has active herpes on the area to be treated

  • Pregnant women or women who are planning pregnancy

  • Anyone who has vitiligo spots on the area to be treated

  • A women who has given birth within the past month or is currently breastfeeding

  • A person who is prone to the formation of keloids

  • Anyone suffering from a tumor disease

  • A person taking anticoagulants

  • A person who has taken some kind of medicine for acne within the 6 months before the treatment

Are there any side-effects?

After each Laser Hair Removal treatment, you are likely to experience some redness, tingling and possibly some heat bumps on the treatment area. This is a sign of a successful treatment and usually subsides within a few hours. A few people experience itching some days later as the hair is pushed out. Stronger reactions are rare, but side effects can include blistering and hyper/hypopigmentation. This risk is greatly reduced when clients follow aftercare instructions and do not tan prior to and after treatments.
